The Athlone Wing became a home to 34 severely disabled children, led by a competent and compassionate house mother, Matron Pringle. Today, the children live there until the age of 18. There are currently four dormitories – two for girls and two for boys. The dormitories flank a central living and dining area and are adjacent to a large veranda.
Its purpose is to provide a friendly home for children to live and be cared for whilst attending school in surrounding areas.
