On May 6, 2013, the Jamaica Government’s Ministry of Health, through the South East Regional Health Authority, and University of the West Indies (Mona Campus in Jamaica), entered into a memorandum of understanding to facilitate a partnership, along with the Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre, to manage, operate and seek to enhance the development of the Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Science.
This partnership will provide an opportunity to achieve a higher quality of care, expand the services offered and improve access for the poor and vulnerable to rehabilitation medicine.
The estimated commencement date for the formal agreement and partnership is June 30, 2013.
